This week I ran 10 miles on Tuesday. It felt great! Our fastest mile was our last mile, which was awesome. I ran about 3.25 miles today. I had planned on 4, but this morning was just one of those mornings where I could not get over how tired I was. I figured it was better not to push myself. I plan on taking a spin class tomorrow between classes. I'm really looking forward to that. I cannot even remember the last time I went to spin!
My friend suggested walking lunges to help tone my thighs and butt. I plan on doing three sets of 20 every day. I also need to get back to doing my plank pose daily. I'm not out of shape at all, I just need to get back into the habit. I'm trying to increase my work outs without taking too much time away from school. My professor is having heart surgery today, so he decided to move our test up to this coming Wednesday rather than in a couple weeks. We just found this out last night, so this weekend is going to be filled with studying.
Unfortunately this weekend is going to be extremely difficult. I have made the decision and appointment to have my golden retriever, Syd, put to sleep. Sadly the past few weeks he has completely stopped using his back legs (he has degenerative mylopathy). I love my dog dearly, and I have had him since he was a little puppy. He would be turning 11 on March 31st. I truly believe that it is time to let him go. And I believe he will be in Heaven with my Dad. Please keep me in your prayers this weekend. This is by far the most difficult decision I think I have ever had to make. I plan to post a blog dedicated to him when I am feeling up for it.
I hope everyone in blog world is doing well.

This blog was started as a way of keeping myself motivated to keep working out, and the blog has been successful in that aspect. I started running in 2007, and it really has transformed my life. I have discovered so many inspiring individuals through the "blog world" and many delicious recipes. I use this blog to keep track of my training and write about the fun things in life. Keep checking back to read about my training for my first marathon, in February 2011.
So sad to hear about Syd...I'm thinking about you, girl!!
