Two weeks from tomorrow start my proficiency exams. I've been studying and working like crazy. Over the past couple of weeks I haven't run much, but I've been trying to fit in a run here or there, if I get out of work early enough. I have to admit that those recent attacks on female joggers has me completely spooked. And last night didn't help... I woke up just after 3 am to gunshots being fired somewhere not too far from where I live. They were quite loud, and I heard at least 5 or 6. I was flipping out! I called 911, and the operator told me they would have someone check out the area. I didn't hear anything about it on the news this morning, but I'm plenty spooked! I couldn't sleep last night, and I was too afraid to turn my light on... just in case someone was outside! (I have a very active imagination, that I'm sure was only heightened by the fact that it was 3 am.) I ended up reading Runner's World under a blanket with a flashlight, until I was able to fall back to sleep a few hours later.
I plan on trying to run when I can this week. But the roommate and I have been very good about doing work-outs using the exercise ball. We will keep those up. Just 2 weeks to go until those darn tests are over....
Below are pics of Zack... I'll have some up of my dog Syd swimming in the pool, just as soon as Chris puts them through photoshop.
I hope everyone is doing well!

This blog was started as a way of keeping myself motivated to keep working out, and the blog has been successful in that aspect. I started running in 2007, and it really has transformed my life. I have discovered so many inspiring individuals through the "blog world" and many delicious recipes. I use this blog to keep track of my training and write about the fun things in life. Keep checking back to read about my training for my first marathon, in February 2011.
He is so tiny! Though my cat is quite huge in comparison. This stalker is freaking me out too. Be careful!
