I have been very busy lately, so I haven't had as much time to blog (or read blogs) as I would like, but that's the way it goes when writing a thesis. I hope to write my one year anniversary blog this weekend, but for now I wanted to say a quick THANK YOU!
Thank you all for being so quick to respond to my last blog about my knee. I have been icing it on and off since, taking ibuprofen occasionally, and putting some Icy Hot on it before bed. Last night I went to spinning and made sure to keep my resistance low (which was difficult for me). It felt great! In fact my knee is feeling SO much better today. I was even able to do my push-ups the past two days. I also looked up exercises to strengthen my quads, and will be doing those this weekend. I really want to run tonight, but I think it might be best to wait until Monday. Unfortunately that really only leaves next week to run (hopefully we'll get up to 10 miles), and the following week to rest before the half. I am trying to stay positive though!
Thanks again!
This blog was started as a way of keeping myself motivated to keep working out, and the blog has been successful in that aspect. I started running in 2007, and it really has transformed my life. I have discovered so many inspiring individuals through the "blog world" and many delicious recipes. I use this blog to keep track of my training and write about the fun things in life. Keep checking back to read about my training for my first marathon, in February 2011.
Glad to hear your knee is doing better. The Icy Hot at night is awesome isn't it? I am in the same boat as you...as far as training and half marathon date. I got up to 7.5 miles and hoping for a 10. Also..did you invest in a road bike or tri bike for triathlon training? Good luck with everything...(thesis too!)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYou're quite welcome -- I enjoy reading!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that thesis writing. I remember when I was doing mine -- ugh, the exhaustion!
Jes! Did you fall off Earth? How is your knee holding up?!
