I'm sitting here sipping a large glass of wine while I blog. It is really quite delicious.
Monday was very busy. I worked all day, had to dog sit in the evening, then discovered the most amazing grocery store in the world!!! My intern had told me about this mom and pop grocery store before, but I did not check it out until Monday evening. I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!! The store has two parts, a produce and a meat section. I went to the produce section first and purchased a LOT of produce before going to the meat section and buying some roast beef lunch meat, chicken, and New York strip steak to surprise Chris. I spent only a fraction of what I would have spent on my usual grocery store. I will DEFINITELY be shopping there from now on! I am so excited that I can actually afford all of the fruit and vegetables that I want.
On Tuesday evening, Caitlin and I went for a run. We had planned to run four miles, but it was soooo hot outside. We ended up only doing two miles that evening but made up the four miles this morning. The four mile run this morning was really great.
Tuesday run:
Mile 1: 10:54
Mile 2: 10:42
Wednesday run:
Mile 1: 11:53
Mile 2: 11:45
Mile 3: 11:27
Mile 4: 11:03
Today I heard about about an 8K race called GR8 to DON8 which raises money for organ donation. Since that is essentially 5 miles and our goal was to get Caitlin up to 5 miles in April, we signed up today. That race is next weekend, and I'm pretty excited about it. We are going to try to run 5 miles on Friday morning.
Tomorrow I go back to the ear, nose, and throat doctor to have my hearing tested again. The ringing is still present, but not nearly as bad as it once was. I will let you know how it goes. I have some new fitness plans that I will reveal this weekend. I am very excited. I hope that you all are having a wonderful week.
This blog was started as a way of keeping myself motivated to keep working out, and the blog has been successful in that aspect. I started running in 2007, and it really has transformed my life. I have discovered so many inspiring individuals through the "blog world" and many delicious recipes. I use this blog to keep track of my training and write about the fun things in life. Keep checking back to read about my training for my first marathon, in February 2011.
I love the sound of that grocery store! I hope you participate in the race!
