Yesterday I did my 8 mile run in 1:26:57. There was a lot of fog until around 4.5 miles, so I felt a little like I was swimming. It was pretty gross. The roommate and I kept a good pace up to 6 miles. I was surprised at how fast my legs were still moving. In fact, I was so lost in that thought that I almost tripped on a break in the sidewalk. I actually felt very good finishing and sprinted the last little bit. I even enjoyed the ice bath afterwards. Now I just need to get one of those bath pillows.
Unfortunately, ever since my right hip is pretty sore. It originally started hurting this past Thursday then went away. I hope it goes away by tomorrow.
Other than the sore hip, yesterday was a really fun day. I may have even found a few new places to run. I can't wait!
Also, congratulations to Joe for his crazy-long bike ride out to the beach yesterday!
This blog was started as a way of keeping myself motivated to keep working out, and the blog has been successful in that aspect. I started running in 2007, and it really has transformed my life. I have discovered so many inspiring individuals through the "blog world" and many delicious recipes. I use this blog to keep track of my training and write about the fun things in life. Keep checking back to read about my training for my first marathon, in February 2011.
Congratulations on your 8 mile run but please be careful. Tripping and falling is no laughing matter. It actualy happened to me, had knees swollen and worst of all, I had to stop running for a while at least until my knees got well. Hope your hips get better. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI'm super proud of you! Summer fog in summer in Florida is like a bath in your own sweat. (And yes, it's summer in Florida 11.5 months out of the year.)
ReplyDeleteAren't roommates great! I wouldn't be where I am right now without mine :) Have a great week!
