Last night I did my favorite Zen In The Den yoga routine on ExerciseTV. It really helped me relax before bed.
This morning I started out trying to make Caitlin's baked oatmeal. Only I forgot to buy agave and did not have any rice milk. I ended up using Quaker Multigrain hot cereal (a blend of rye, barley, oats, and wheat) with skim milk, some canned pumpkin, instant coffee, cinnamon, a tiny bit of nutmeg, and part of a banana. I had intended to add almonds, but I forgot. I then baked at 375 for 20 minutes, and boy did it smell good! Oh, I also bought little ramekins, so I ended up filling two and giving one to Chris. Instead of topping with the rest of the banana before baking, I decided to use the rest of the banana to make a green monster smoothie. I also added spinach, flax, milk, sweetener, and some mixed frozen fruit (I think it's a combination of strawberries, peaches, pineapple, and melon). In the future, I will have to add some sweetener to the baked oatmeal (which is probably where the agave and vanilla milk would have helped). I think some honey or Splenda brown sugar would help.

Now for my dilemma. Publix is out of canned pumpkin! They claim there is a pumpkin shortage! EEK! I have one can left. I have mentioned before how much I LOVE my pumpkin smoothies... so I'm thinking about saving most of it for that. I'm not sure yet. The jury is still out. In the mean time, I should be looking for more canned pumpkin at other stores.
Today is a rest day from running. My friend, Caitlin, and I plan to run in the morning. Speaking of running, I remembered something today. At the running group, someone mentioned that they did not think the 26.2 Run with Donna was a good first marathon since it involves running over 2 to 3 bridges and along the beach. They said it would be good if I started doing some trail running. First of all, I have never done trail running (unless you count hashing). Second, I really want this to be my first marathon, so I'm going to try incorporating some beach runs and try to find some hills... somewhere. Does anyone know of a good place to do some trail runs in the Orlando area? I did run one of the Jacksonville bridges last year when I ran The Gate River Run 15K. And I have run the 7 Mile Bridge.
I'm off to make dinner. There is a new Big Bang Theory on tonight! Woo-hoo!
